These are common questions about asphalt paving, sealcoating and repair
around Dallas and the west side of metro Atlanta. They cover driveways,
parking lots, gravel and the written quote. If yours is not here, call
or text and we will answer it.
We pave asphalt driveways, parking lots, private roads and long shared drives. On asphalt you already have, we do patching, crack filling, sealcoating, overlays and milling. We also haul stone and gravel. Our concrete work is sidewalks, walkways, small driveways and commercial approaches.
What areas do you serve?
Dallas, the Paulding County seat, sits at the center of our service area. We work across Paulding, Cobb, Douglas, Carroll and Polk Counties, and in Atlanta. We take jobs within about 100 miles of Dallas, including the north Georgia mountains around Ellijay and Blue Ridge. A job farther out is worth a call too.
How does pricing work for a paving job?
We price each job after we look at it, and the quote comes in writing. The size of the area moves the number, and so does any old surface that has to come out. Grading, base stone, drainage work and the asphalt thickness change it too. So does how easily our trucks can reach the site.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes. We accept credit cards, and you can also pay by cash or check.
What should I ask paving companies before I hire one?
Start with what goes under the asphalt: how thick the stone base will be, and how it gets compacted. Then ask where the rain will go once the surface is down. Get the answers and the price in writing before any work starts. We answer the same questions when we look at your job.
Can you turn a gravel driveway into an asphalt driveway?
Yes. We regrade the gravel so water runs off, add base stone where it is thin and compact it. Then we pave it with hot mix asphalt. Our page on asphalt driveway paving walks through each step.
Can you pave over my old asphalt?
Yes, if the base under it is still sound. An asphalt overlay puts a new layer of asphalt on top. We mill the old surface first where it needs to come down, such as along the edges and around drains. Where the base has failed, that section has to come out and be rebuilt.
Do you sealcoat asphalt that someone else paved?
Yes. We sealcoat asphalt driveways and parking lots no matter who paved them. We fill the cracks before the sealer goes on, and a parking lot gets fresh striping afterward. Our page on sealcoating covers when to seal and how long to stay off it.
Do you pave parking lots and private roads?
Yes. We pave new parking lots and re-pave worn ones for businesses, shops, churches and property owners, then stripe them. We also pave private roads, including HOA and developer streets and farm and church roads. For a business that stays open during the work, we can pave the lot in sections.
Do I need a permit for a new driveway?
It depends on the address and the road the drive meets. The Paulding County DOT issues the driveway permit for a new drive onto a county road. Work in a state highway right of way, such as along US 278, needs a GDOT permit. A Dallas mailing address is not always inside city limits, so check with the office that covers yours.
